Hawzah News Agency- Referring to the recent attacks and crimes of the Zionist regime against Lebanon, Palestine and Iran, the Lebanese Amal Movement Office in Iran has emphasized the importance of Imam Musa Sadr’s warnings and positions regarding this regime. The statement states that since his years of presence in Lebanon, Imam Musa Sadr considered Israeli aggressions a serious threat to the region and did not limit confronting it to military resistance alone, but spoke of the necessity of forming a resilient society in the political, social, cultural and economic spheres.
The statement continues: “Forty-eight years have now passed since the kidnapping of Imam Musa Sadr and his two companions; Forty-eight years in which the void of the man who was both the standard-bearer of the resistance and the herald of dialogue, coexistence and human dignity has been felt more than ever. What is happening today in Lebanon, Palestine and the region reminds us more than ever of the necessity of his thought and presence.”
At the end of this statement, the office of the Lebanese Amal Movement in Iran emphasized that “the case of the kidnapping of Imam Musa Sadr and his two companions is still open,” and noted that “pursuing it until their fate is clarified and their return is a responsibility that should not be forgotten,” adding: “Imam Musa Sadr’s place among us is empty.”
Imam Musa Sadr, a prominent Shiite cleric and founder of the Lebanese Amal Movement, mysteriously disappeared on August 31, 1978, along with Sheikh Muhammad Yaqub and Abbas Badreddine, during an official visit to Libya. Since then, their fate has remained one of the longest cases of disappearances in the region.
